It was quite evident we needed to slow down after the hectic pace we had been keeping on this trip.  We are over half-way through, so the late nights, busy days and different eating habits is beginning to affect our attitudes and bodies.  So, we got up and relaxed at my in-laws home.  The kids were excited to play some video games, checkers with grandma and try out their new scooters on some walks around the neighborhood with their grandpa. But, since I am not one for sitting around the house all day long, we decided to go bowling.  Our family of six went to Columbia Lanes, an AMF bowling alley, and played two games a piece for a total of $8.10.  Would you like to know how we went bowling for so little? We enjoyed a couple days in Salisbury/Fruitland, MD where we lived for eight years.  It was nice to visit and already see changes in the last year.  Since we had only a short amount of time, we spent most of it seeing family and friends in the area.  My parents and children did take a walk through the city park and FREE Salisbury Zoo.  Our 7 1/2 year old daughter agreed to be the photographer in my absence.  Flamingos get their beautiful pink color from eating shellfish. There are many geese that live in the zoo and park in Salisbury. We are thankful to be staying at a home that was only without electricity for one and a half days during the recent storm and power outages that affected West Virginia and Virginia.   Some homes were without power for ten days in White Sulphur Springs (WSS).   We went by The Greenbrier today and drove around part of The Old White Course that was used for the PGA tournament.   We were just a few days late, so we saw some of the platforms and stands still set up.   The course was beautiful and The Greenbrier was an impressive sight, as usual.   I found out that they now have a casino underground. We drove from Oak Forest, IL (suburb of Chicago) to Uniontown, PA.  Since it was a nine hour drive without stops, we didn't take time to see anything.  However, we drove by several places we have visited before that I would recommend checking out. Indiana If you are a college football fan, check out South Bend , IN.  It is the home of Notre Dame and the College Football Hall of Fame .  Though we are not Notre Dame fans it is a beautiful campus to walk through and on game weekends you can walk through the stadium and see the gold helmets being prepared for the game.  " Touchdown Jesus " is also a recognizable figure on the Hesburgh Library near the stadium.  It's been several years since we visited the College Football Hall of Fame, but as you can see from the map of the museum there is a lot to see and do.  With all of the interactive displays, it is a great place to take kids.
